Barahona was born and raised in El Salvador. Since an early age, he was interested in the arts. It was through dancing that he gained major recognition in his native country and in the United States. As a Cha Cha and Salsa dancing champion, he traveled the world and learned about different cultures without ever forgetting the country from where he came. Through dancing, he changed the lives of hundreds of young people in Latin America by creating the first dance academy of its kind, "Latinsouls". He says, "photography is an art without rules in which I can capture the essence of things and it is also a way of loving, feeling and experiencing the world around me".
